Before you connect an inbox
Straight answers to what people ask first: who reads your mail, what happens when the AI gets it wrong, and what it costs.
Privacy and data
Does anyone read my email?
No person does. When your whitelist, your blacklist or an earlier decision about the same sender doesn't settle a message, an AI model reads a copy of it: the sender, the subject and up to the first 1,500 characters of the body, together with your rules. That model is run by TypeSafe AI; OpenAI only gets a message as a fallback while TypeSafe is unavailable. Neither trains on your mail. Nobody at QuietMail reads your mail unless you ask us to for support, or security or the law requires it.
What do you store, and for how long?
Never the body of a message: it exists only in memory for the seconds a check takes. We keep your account email, your rules, your mailbox access token encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and an activity log with each processed message's id, sender, subject line, the AI's scores and the action taken. They stay while the inbox is connected, and disconnecting it deletes its token and activity log at once. What QuietMail remembers about a sender's past mail expires after 30 days.
Has anyone checked QuietMail's security?
Yes. Google has verified QuietMail's access to Gmail, and QuietMail passed a CASA Tier 2 assessment, validated by TAC Security in September 2026. CASA is the security review Google requires of apps that read Gmail through restricted scopes, carried out by an independent lab. It is not an endorsement by Google, and a validation lasts twelve months.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Delete account removes everything in one step: inboxes, tokens, activity log, rules and support chat. It also cancels any subscription and revokes QuietMail's access to Gmail at Google. Disconnecting a single inbox deletes its token and activity log immediately. Dodo Payments, which handles billing, keeps its own payment records because the law requires it.
When the AI gets it wrong
What if it hides an email I needed?
Nothing is ever deleted for good. By default QuietMail only marks noise as read, so it stays in your inbox; if you choose Noise, Spam or Trash instead, that is where it goes, and Gmail keeps trashed mail for about 30 days. Every decision is in your activity log with its reason and an undo (mark as unread, back to inbox, restore from trash, not spam). Whitelisted senders are always kept, and so are replies in conversations you have written in. If a check fails partway, nothing is done to the message. Undoing doesn't train anything: to stop a repeat, whitelist the sender or change a rule.
Can an email trick the AI into doing something?
It can try, but the AI has nothing to act with. It has no tools and no access to your account, and all it returns is its judgment of whether the message matches your rules. Plain code then performs the one action you chose; nothing can make QuietMail reply, forward or permanently delete. The worst a crafted email can do is sway the verdict on its own sender's mail, and that shows in your log with an undo. An optional switch also sends mail that tries to give orders to AI assistants to the trash.

What does the free plan include?
One inbox, no card, no end date. Your whitelist and blacklist run on every message, and you get 80 AI calls a month for mail in your inbox; mail your lists settle doesn't use one. When you connect, unread mail from the last 35 days is checked for free. If the calls run out, AI checks pause until the 1st of the next month while the whitelist and blacklist keep working. On Free the AI does not look at your Spam folder.
What do paid plans add?
No monthly cap: the AI checks every new message on every connected inbox. It also checks your Spam folder and brings back mail you would want. The plans differ only in how many inboxes you connect: Solo is $4.99 a month for 1, Trio $7.99 for 3, Plenty $14.99 for up to 20. Paying yearly gets two months free.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, from your billing page. You pay on the day you subscribe (there is no free trial), keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for, and then the account goes back to Free, which keeps filtering the inbox you connected first.
